At the first re-organizational meeting, the chapter elected Diron Ford '93 chapter president for the 2009-2010 chapter year.  Here is his welcome message.

Fellow Golden Bulls,

I bring you greetings as your newly elected Alumni Association President.  I am excited about having the opportunity to represent Johnson C. Smith University and lead this elite fraternity of those who hold high the “Gold and Blue”.

The legacy of servant leadership that the Metro-Atlanta Chapter has provided to the university and the greater Atlanta communities has empowered and enriched the lives of alumnae and friends of the university for over 30 years.

Over the next couple of months our chapter will embark in “Reclamation: Returning To The Legacy of Service and Excellence.”  This vision statement will center around four key initiatives which support President Carter’s vision of taking the university from “Good To Great”.  The initiatives are highlighted below:

1)       Revitalize and Reclaim the “Golden Bull Nation”

2)       Sustain The Spirit of Comradeship and loyalty to the university

3)       Engage In Post-secondary Recruitment

4)       Build A Strong Financial Base
